Inflammation of the gut-brain connection is the most common cause of both digestive and brain symptoms yet it is almost always never addressed or even looked at!
Digestive issues are caused by not eating enough nutrient dense foods and eating too much processed and refined foods, industrial seed oils (canola, sunflower, rapeseed, etc.), sugar and for a lot of people gluten. As well, stress, environmental and metabolic toxicity, gut dysbiosis (imbalance of good and bad bacteria), and chronic infections such as SIBO (Small Intestine Bacterial Overgrowth), parasites, H-pylori and viruses. These all send inflammatory signals to the brain.

What to do?
Eat more FIBRE. Fibre feeds our microbiome, and low fibre diets reduce microbial diversity. Fibre is found in all our vegetables, fruits, nuts and seeds.
Drink bone broth daily. Bone broth and other sources of collagen and glycine can repair gut integrity.
Consume naturally fermented foods like unpasteurized sauerkraut, kimchi, kombucha and coconut kefir.
Eat real, whole nutrient dense foods that make you thrive.
Stay away from processed and refined foods, industrial seed oils, sugar and gluten.
